Staff Clarity
Supporting vocation and moral life on Capitol Hill
Our purpose
Many congressional and policy staffers enter public life with a strong commitment to the common good, yet find themselves serving within systems that impose moral tension, constrained choices, and conflicting pressures.
Staff Clarity provides formation, accompaniment, and reflective practices that help staff sustain integrity and clarity over time.
Who we serve
Staff Clarity is designed for congressional staff and public servants who seek spiritual, moral, or reflective support, whether they are rooted in a religious tradition, spiritually curious, or not drawn to organized religion. It offers space for meaning-making, clarity, and personal formation without dogma, proselytizing, or ideological expectations. Participants come from varied backgrounds and beliefs.
The Challenge
Public servants regularly confront situations that strain their values, including institutional incentives that conflict with personal convictions or moments of complicity in harm. These experiences can lead to moral injury, often without spaces to process them. D.C.’s culture rewards speed and performance but offers little opportunity for reflection, discernment, or meaning-making.
